Petraeus scandal is reported with compelled veneration of all things military

As I think most us expect, this will turn into criticism of the "wider worship of the national security state."  As I said I am not too much interested in sending out things on this incident  but this article attacks the military so I think it is one people should think about in light of events.   I think we especially expect this from someone like Glenn Greenfield who must be salivating over this given his recent writings on terrorism and drones – now he is able to attack the very head of all that Greenfield thinks is wrong.  But there is some irony here as I seem to recall that Christiane Amanpour used to have some disdain for the US military back in the 1990's.  Her tweets below would seem to indicate otherwise today.

From Bill Clinton, Gary Hart, and Eliot Spitzer to John Edwards, Larry Craig and David Vitter, their titillation and joy is palpable as they revel in every last arousing detail. This giddy package is delivered draped in a sanctimonious wrapping: their excitement at reporting on these scandals is matched only by their self-righteous condemnations of the moral failings of the responsible person.
